Our child loves floats. This allows her to kick and use her arms for rowing. It’s hard to bend over. I bought another pool float that seemed safer, but it soon turned out to be prone to tipping over. This one is much better and uses top and bottom strap buckles that hook around the waist so you can hang it over your shoulders and a strap between your legs.

This worked better than expected. Our 11.5 month old is not ready for puddle jumps and is too heavy for baby floats with canopies (she just rolls over on them), so Disney World chose this cheap float. For less than $20, it was the best of both worlds. She liked to take a small step forward so she could tilt her head when she got tired. Please note: this is by no means a float. You cannot stay away for any length of time. It’s not advertised as a lifesaving device and it’s perfectly fine to stay away from them. I didn’t think she’d like it as much as we did, so I’ll be using it until she’s ready to upgrade to a puddle jumper.

love this little float. First introduced a 6 month old to the hotel’s kids pool. The depth was only a foot and a half. After she put her in it, it was amazing to see her feet touch the bottom of the pool. The float keeps her head above the water and seems pretty stable with the straps, I could see that (the straps go around so the baby doesn’t slip off). Obviously, I always recommend supervising and keeping children at arm’s length.
