I have bought a total of 8 of these panels for my screen porch to add sun and rain protection. They are easy to assemble, and very strong. I am pretty handy but I do not think they are difficult to install as they are so lightweight. If you are doing multiple panels I recommend assembling one full panel and installing it, and then add each panel to that. I have 3 each over the front and rear of my porch and 2 over my BBQ grill. They have been up for a couple years now and do a fantastic job of shielding sun and rain, and they look great.

Everything is made of plastic except for the screws. Definitely need 2 people to mount the awning, however you can still mount it with 1 person with some support (duct tape to hold it in place) or etc.. Looks great once its finished but do not be alarm when it rains because you will get some thumping sound effect from the awning.

Great Value, not difficult to install

I am happy to say I had no problem installing it and no complaints about the quality. Yes it is plastic, I knew that when I ordered it. I do not understand how people found it difficult to install. It is actually a breeze as long as you measure correctly and drill your pilot holes in the right places. Once your holes are done it will take two people to install it, but only takes a few minutes. It is extremely lightweight so it is not difficult to lift and hold in position when fastening it to the wall. Again, 90 percent of the work is measuring and drilling accurately (for the 80 inch version the holes are exactly 38 inches apart in two rows, 7 1/4 inches apart. So far it is holding up well, I will update if it fails in high winds.

What a surprise!

At first I had concerns about the water dripping off the edge but after I hung them up and we just got some rain they seem to work really well. I think some of the runoff goes into the bottom pipe which helps a lot. Yes they are plastic but they look great and for the price you can not beat it. I was able to hang it by myself with a couple paint poles but I am used to doing stuff alone plus the hardware they provide ia a bit Overkill I downgraded to some smaller screws it does not weigh much and it is not going to be going anywhere. The color of the plastic is like window tint or a pair of sunglasses not brown or coffee. Pleasantly surprised with this item.

The framing was still in good shape, so initially I was planning on installing replacement panels. Not very sturdy added some rain gutter screws to reinforce it because it would be real flimsy without them does not seem like enough screws came with it for it to be stable on its own. you better have good handy man skills or you won not stand a chance of getting this in place. First the instructions are worthless. you do not receive all the screws you will need to hold it together. I had to improvise and drill holes thru the end pieces and put screws I got at the hardware store thru the end supports and into the plastic support arms to hold the thing together. it works pretty good so far

Poorly designed

Easy to assemble and install however, the front part of the awning where the poly extends out needs to be straight at all times. Since the poly material curls up a gap appears because of this. It should been designed to have a bar or anything in front of it to weight down and keep the poly material straight and aligned with the brackets to keep it from curling. The small screws are so-so in keeping the material inside the slot. Poor design.

Our main dissatisfaction was that the awning was dented because the packaging in the cardboard box didn’t protect it but it would be too much to return and reorder so we kept it.It’s difficult to bend and align the flat awning into a curved frame but you eventually will get it in with patience and two people. We used a little dish detergent as a lubricant to fit the other frame parts in because that was a little tight too and we were always afraid of damaging the awning piece which seems fragile. For the price and what it does, it’s worth the struggle but you do need some skills with the use of a ladder, drill, and level, and some muscle.

I must say that it was a little difficult putting it together. Definitely a two man job. You have to tape the sections together at first because every time you move it, a section falls apart. Also make sure you level it before hanging. We did not and the house siding was not level!! We had to adjust the screws but did not take it down. Being said, I LOVE it. It is great looking, sturdy, but light. Comes out far from the door with plenty of rain shielding. Glad we got the double sided one. It also blocks the HOT South Carolina sun. It was a good purchase and I recommend it highly.
