This bottle warmer works great for us. We have have had it about three months now and it saves hot water since it only uses a very little bit in steaming. We use filtered water and that seems to work well. You do need to wipe down the inside probably once a week and swish some water around to get rid of anything coming off of the element. Never had any spills, not sure how it would possible to have any spills!?! We use other bottles in this just fine but sometimes they get hot steam water under lid so we make sure to get water out. I usually run some cold water over hands before picking up too and have never gotten burned.
